ARTIST BIO

Jacqueline Pemberton DipSBA(dist)

My love for the natural environment is particularly evident in my detailed botanical work, in which I aim to capture the very essence of my subjects, using graphite, coloured pencil and water colour.

QUALIFICATIONS
I hold formal qualifications in visual arts, both at university level and private colleges. My proudest award in 2012 has been the Diploma of Botanical Illustration, passed with distinction, from the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) in UK.

EXHIBITIONS
I have exhibited and sold works overseas as well as my homeland, Australia.

PUBLICATIONS
Publications include contributions to:

'flora of the South West (Conservation and Land Management)

'The handbook of plantforms for botanical artists' (Margaret Stevens),

​

'Coloured pencil techniques DVD tutorial, created in collaboration with well known Australian botanical artist Helen Fitzgerald.

Featured in Spring 2016 edition vol 32, no1 'Landscope' magazine - Department Parks and Wildlife WA

 

Featured in 25th Anniversary Calendar, Friends of Kings Park Botanic Gardens Perth

MEMBERSHIPS
Memberships include BASA (Botanical Art Society of Australia), FRBGM (Friends of Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne,  Botanical Artistry, Wildflower Society of Western Australia, and  FACET (Forum Advocating Cultural & Eco Tourism).

TEACHING
As a qualified instructor, I have held several adult workshops and classes as well as private tutorials in botanical art instruction
